This was one of the 4 mildly decent shots I took at the Flower Gardens last weekend. <_< The seas were pretty uncooperative - we had to turn around mid-trip and go home. I was pretty disappointed in the photo-ops, but that's life, as they say. I'm supposed to go back in a couple of weeks - hopefully the next trip will be a better one.
Anyway - this was my favorite picture. I love the eye-contact with this diver - makes you feel like you're in the water with her. I took this at 60 feet or therabouts - the water has some backscatter that I didn't feel like cleaning up, but it's not bad.
What do you think?
I've added this to my Flower Gardens gallery on my website
LOL, I like that "mildly decent" Christa, I think it's certainly good enough to put in your gallery.
I think the composition is good w/ the rope coming out of the foreground corner. It's a bit out of focus (of course) due to DOF, which you can't help.
The skin tones on the diver are a bit blue-ish grey which could probably be adjusted by white balancing.
Cheers
James
I see the divers are using apparently thick wetsuits and hoods, what is the water temperature this time of the year at the Gardens?
69f on my last trip.
Ok James - you, of course - are right. Here is the next version after spending a few minutes on it.....
