Any Advice following upgrade?

4 posts
  1. OK, to cut a long story short I've recently bought the Nexus housing for my D70 and a flat port for my 60mm Macro. I have been using a c5050 in a PT-015 housing with an Inon 220s strobe connected to Matthias' TTL converter and the Inon WAL - a set-up which has generally served me very well and should continue to do so as a backup.

Given the upgrade, does anybody have any useful advice and tips on use, storage, maintenance etc. I've leak tested it and no worries there so now to get insurance sorted.

Once I've done that I hope to get it properly wet and be able to show some of the wildlife around Ireland.

  2. Hello Tim!

so you bit the bullet and bought the housing!!! My advice would be to get the 10.5 lens next with the 170mm dome so that you can use the 18-70 kit lens as well.. Keep the 12-24 for topside.)

  3. Hi Micheal - Yep I did it. And it started with you, so you're in trouble with my wife

I asked about the port for the 12-24 and almost fainted when they told me the price so I may very well follow your advice. I 'm having great fun with the lens topside tho.

  4. Tim -

The 170mm dome will work with the 12-24 with a 40mm extension and diopter.. I've used it with ok results depending on what you are shooting. the 170mm dome is very versatile!!!
