20D Housing for Deep Diving

4 posts
  1. Hello-

Looking for advice on the best housing for the Canon 20D to do regular dives to 75 - 100 meters. From what I'm seeing the Subal or the Aquatica seem to be the best current offerings, but I would be interested in feedback and opinions on this. Also, any experience in dealing with these companies when it comes to special requests like stronger springs and other "deep features".

    Thanks in advance

    Judd

  2. Since you have Aquatica on your list of choices, the first thing I would do is talk to Blake at Aquatica and see what he could do to help. He might just say the housing is fine at this depth...

Of course, this statement ignorantly assumes you are in North America. If you are in Europe, it might be easier to get in touch with the Subal folks.

  3. Hello Judd, the depth rating for the Aquatica is already 100 meter, this be been said, stronger spring can be added to make it suitable to deeper depth. it is a modification we have done for a few tech diver.

    Cheers

  4. Yep, I second the Aquatica. They have done it before and test their housing to depth. I've tried the stiffer spring once and it is nice deeper but tough as heck in shallow water.
