My favorite shot

  1. Maybe this is a thread that all the participants will join in on. Anyway this is my favorite shot from the trip. Don't know why....it just is.

  2. OK, I MUST put this on my list for next year...

    Another great shot Larry!

  3. Hi Larry,

I was hoping someone would post something like this. Picking a favorite out of my ~200 shots that I consider "good" is not easy for me. A lot of them show things that I want to express about the sharks, but they are not "the best" artistically, etc.

Here's what I would enter in a contest if the topic was "tiger sharks:"

However, these capture the mood of the trip and the sharks better:

"I smell fish around here somewhere"

    "Is it over here?"

    KN0X0033.jpg

    "You're not a fish!"

And from topside, my overall wrangling favorite is:

Not because it's the prettiest, but because it tells the "story."

    Cheers

  4. Larry, that is a great shot. I'm a big fan of Gary Larson's "Far Side" sketches. In one of them there is a dolphin trainer standing at the edge of a diving board, holding a tiny fish in his outstretched arm. One whale says to the other, "This time I'm gong for the whole schmere."

The look on your shark says exactly the same thing. Congrats.

  5. Awesome shots guys! Where do I sign up for next year's trip?

    Luiz

  6. Luiz - next year's trip is either going to be in mid-March, or late May/early June. I'm learning towards the May/June time frame for Tiger Sharks and Dolphins (no Great Hammerheads), but I won't know until the end of the month!

Other Wetpixel members also have charters on the Shear Water as well, which are usually posted in the Commercial Dive Travel forum...

  7. I second Rocha - the new wetpixel trip should sell out in record time...I will have to make the 45 min drive up to dive with Jim more often...I wanted to try and get up to West Palm for a few dives with you guys before you left but got stuck on a charter to Atlantis and Nassau...If anyone is going for the random dive with JASA drop me an email...

    regards...
