I think the Canon 20D is the current best pick for the value. High mp count, excellent image quality, all the pro features etc. Ikelite eTTL2 support is well proven and available for this camera. About the only thing missing is a fisheye lens but that can't be long now.
Nikon and Canon tend to leapfrog each other and the D70 isn't a bad choice either. With this one you get a higher flash sync speed (very good for sunbursts) and fisheye lens availability and price. I also like the dual mode dials (I think its more intuitive) but this is personal preference.
If you get the Canon the lenses to get are:
Canon 100mm macro USM
Canon 60mm macro USM (just out)
Canon 10-22mm
Sigma 15mm FE
Nikon is nearly the same:
Nikon 105mm micro
Nikon 60mm Micro
Nikon 12-24mm
Nikon 10.5mm FE
Sigma 15mm FE
Good summary. I would drop the D100 off your list if you only want the "latest and greatest." If you want to save some money, then FOCUS on the D100 as there are a lot for sale in the used market, with used housings.
Cheers

its hard choice between the Nikon D70 and the Canon 20D.
Is the Quallity in the D70 good enough for salling photos to stock agencys
if anybody knows it?
Whether a stock agency will accept your picture is pretty much agency dependent. A number of agencies specify 6MP DSLR as a minimum requirement and there are others (specialising in landscape) that require at least 11MP DSLR output and still others that only accept larger format film (no digi). I think you need to carefully consider the market you are targetting and investigate requirements through individual stock agency websites. There is too much variability to really comment generically on whether D70 photographs are good enough for "stock agencies". Acceptance may ultimately come down to the photographic content rather than shooting medium.
Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean agencies won't accept a 1MP photograph of an orca, a humpback whale and a narwhal simultaneously breaching in a fjord with a sunset and a rainbow in the background....
I think either D70 or 20D would be a great choice, but if you have a specific market in mind, you may need to use that as your deciding factor.
