I'm very new to this forum and to underwater photography, as well. I'm planning to purchase a housing for my canon D20. thought about an ikelite because it provides eTTL-converting. for the lens I planned first the canon 10-22, but have seen now that sigma has announced a 10-20 which would fits to my old canon (1NRS), too. Does anybody has an idea whether this lens would fit into the ikelite hosing with the domeport for the sigma 12-24 or for canon 10-22?? which factors are important to fit (size, closest focusing distance)?
I don't believe that lens is compatible with your old film camera. It will fit on the camera, but will only fill the center 2/3 of the film.
With that said, Ike has a wonderful 8" port converter and Aquatica port for the Canon 10-22mm lens.
Cheers
James
Per the Sigma Website:
10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM
The super wide-angle capability of the 10-20mm zoom makes it a very powerful tool for both indoor and landscape photography. It is specifically designed to optimise results with digital SLR cameras encorporating APS-C size image sensors or smaller.
They Describe a "DC" Lens as:
In the DC series, the image circle is designed to match the size of sensors in most digital SLR cameras. Cameras with images sensors larger than those corresponding to APS-C size should not be used with our DC lenses otherwise vignetting will occur on the picture surface.
Therefore all of the "DC" series of Sigma lenses will vignette with 35mm film cameras.
