Massive Ugly Nudibranch

  1. This guy/girl was about 8-10 inches long and UUUGGGGLLLLYYYY!

    had to stay about 6 feet away to get it in the frame of my 105mm lens.

     

    I am thinking perhaps Kentrodoris rubescens...

    Anyone know for sure?

  2. Yup, except that the genus Kentrodoris has been synonymized with Jorunna so the official name is Jorunna rubescens. And not all of us think it's ugly... :)

    Ugliness is in the eye of the beholder and you're talking to someone who thinks wart hogs, woebegongs, & stonefish are absolutely adorable......
