External diopter avail. for Aquatica soon?

  1. The Woody's diopters as made do not fit the Aquatica ports (I did see a DIY solution here recently, but me and cutting tools don't mix well :) ). On the T&C Aggressor I got to try out a beta version diopter that Aquatica has made, accdg to Capt Piers one of only three now existing, he has one, Mauricio Handler has one, and someone else who I've no idea has one... The idea was to lobby Norma to make some more

It's pretty cool, it is two rings, the outer ring sits inside the port ring externally, and then the diopter screws into that, over the glass. It can be removed during the dive. Piers rigged mine with tape, but he drilled two holes in his port and secured with screws.

I used it for two dives, and as it was a diopter, didn't really help with the jawfish I was trying to shoot, needed a teleconverter for that  , but with the 50 mm macro I was able to get right on top of the subject, any closer and it would have been behind me....

    sigh, more toys :D

PS, the T&C Aggressor is BY FAR The Best Photography Liveaboard I've been on. Heavily Aquatica (and Nikon, but I forgive them) influenced, Capt is a proficient shooter, and they have an onboard PC with PSCS for downloading, burning CDs, etc. After every I dive I went into the galley, downloaded the card into my personal file folder, and reviewed them before the next dive. Awesome!
