Photo Contest Winner

It's not an underwater photo, but I was one of two first prize winners in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Spring photo contest. It will be announced tomorrow (Sunday) in the print edition, but it's online now at:

Mine is the second photo, the winner in the "Places" category. The competition wasn't that great, but of the ten finalists, I got 40% of the votes. I would much prefer a judged competition, but in this case it worked out okay.

The photo was taken with a Nikon D70 and a Nikon 12-24mm DX lens.

Pretty nice prize: two roundtrip tickets on AirTran.

Nice job, Jim. I have really been getting into topside photography simply because my wife is not working and thus I cannot spend the coin on diving right now. I have a special picture from the spring that I call my $600 pic. Why? Because just after I shot this, my wife took the camera, slipped and broke her fall with the front of my 10.5....needless to say it broke.
