I dont know exactly what it is about this shot, but something about this shot just gives me shivers when I look at it. I think it has to do with her facial expression looking strait at you.
And does having the wreck in the background of this shot distract you, or does it give a sence of location.
ps. TTL was really or top of things yesterday. It is quite fun when it works.
I don't find it disturbing - I like it. I would perhaps prefer to have the blue in the background cropped out and a little more of the foreground of the anemone, but other than that - perfect!
Re the schooling snapper(?) - I love the movement and activity conveyed by the image. To be honest, I wouldn't have known it was the Yongala in the background if you hadn't told me. Perhaps if it was more like the prow of the boat or something I might have picked it? Either way, I like it.
Thanks for sharing.
Here you go Anthony, moved the crop up to include more of the background and less of the forground. But now I have to deal with the backscatter......
theres a wreck back there ?????????
I guess that means it isnt too distracting. Good
ummm, I think my wording must have been confusing. I was saying less background and more foreground. Maybe you could make it more of a "panorama" ?? I dunno - just a thought.
Yep, you confused me. Rereading it I can see what you ment.
Yes, panorama is what I was going for in the first one. What is the official panorama ratio?
Sorry for the confusion. I'll try to keep my grammar under control in the future!
Not sure there is an official line on panoramas. I guess it depends on what camera is use for the shoot. For example, if you used the 'blad Xpan, then you get a 24*70 mm neg with a ratio of 1:2.92. However, if you use a 6*17 like that of Mr Duncan, then the ratio is around 1:2.83. Choose your own adventure I say...
The second pic is great! I didn't notice that there was a wreck back there at all. In fact, I can't see it now that I have examined the pic several times, so I think it's fine as is. B)
I'm glad to hear that TTL is working well for you.
Peace,
David.
I don't think that the anemone pic is disturbing, I like it a lot, It shows a diffrent point of view, very original one.
In the second photo I didn't notice the wreck, so it is not distracting. That blue surround looks nice and the fish in the center plays a strong part in this scene, it's a good composition!
