D70 Picture numbering

Anyone know how to trick a D70's photo numbering system after a card format ?

After the format it starts at 0001 again which is a bit of a pain for my, storage system as it causes filename clashes.

There is a small file in the root of the card - maybe I should take a look in there and see if I can pick it apart.

Plan B would be to sort the storage system - probably a better way to go in the longer term.

Easy, just go to the menu and right above Format is File No. Seq, turn that on. It will continue to give you sequential numbers even after formatting. Thats what i do, works a charm

If you download through Nikon View you can make each image a consecutive number at that stage.
