I'm using the Canon 15mm FE on my 20D. I posted some photos and comments here:

I'm not a Canon user but I use the Nikon 16mm that is very similar. I think that this is a great lens for big animals.
In the Maldives I used this lens for all my whaleshark and manta ray photography.
In Cayman, however, I prefer a wider lens for UW wideangle. That is because the main UW subject matter in Cayman is the beautiful UW scenery - and I want to shoot that with as wide a lens as i can.
I realise that such a lens is not yet available for the Canon's (apart from the 1Ds series). So the 15mm is an excellent choice. But make sure you get a domeport that is compatible with a 180degree fisheye should Sigma or Canon bring one out for their cropped sensor cameras. Having both would be ideal.

Hi,
I choose the Sigma 15mm FE to play with my 20D, the optical quality between Canon and Sigma Fisheyes is the same, the construction is quite good and Sigma is about $150,00 more cheap.
It will work as 17mm in you 20D without fisheye efects.
I did picts a lot this week here in Cayman using my Sigma Fisheye in a Aquatica 8" dome port with shade without any problems. I loved the results.
