YX-90 DX Strobe on a Canon 300D

  1. <_<

I've just purchased an hugyfot housing for my Canon 300D. I have an YX-90 DX Strobe from my old camera. The connecting cable (5 points) is working and the strobe too, the only problem is when I insert the strobe cable (horseshoe?) into the camera's port IT WILL SIMPLY WONT WORK.

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

  2. You need to use electrical tape on the camera's hotshoe to cover up all of the contacts except the center contact. Then slide the hotshoe onto the camera, and your strobe will work as a manual power controlled strobe.

If you connect the other pins, then the camera knows that a non eTTL strobe is connected, and it will not fire.

    Cheers
