Sunpack G-flash, S&S YS 25 dx or YS 90 dx?

  1. Hi!

I currently own a Fuji F700 including Fuji housing( comparable to the new F810). I am looking for an external strobe to add to this camera and was advised one of the following three:

    -Sunpack G-flash

-Sea & Sea YS 25 DX

    - or Sea & Sea YS 90 DX

Which would be the better option? are there any good other option?

What is the most suitable contection from camera to strobe?

I shoot most of the time in low viz situations, have only been shooting for a year now and have approximately 400 euro (?? $/GBP) to spend.

Thank you all for your advise.

    Jacqueline

  2. Hi,

The most powerful and full-featured strobe in your list is the YS-90DX. It's also the most expensive.

There are many other strobes that will work with your camera, such as the Ikelite DS50 and DS125, and Inon's of all flavors.

You'll need either a fiber optic cable kit or Ikelite slave sensor to "read" the flash on your camera and tell the strobe when to fire.

  3. The Sunpack G-flash is a slave. The power level is adjustable. It has a setting for pre-flash. It comes with a removeable diffuser. Not terribly powerful, but fine for macro subjects. Pretty useless for wide angle. But at $180, with tray and arm, a very good value for those on a tight budget.
