  1. A few pictures from the Kona Classic photography competition a few weeks ago, in case you haven't seen them elsewhere:

Turtle cleaning station. This shot won "Best in Show" in the Open category this year. :D

Lots of hungry eels in Kona, day or night!

If you've thought about going to the Kona Classic, I highly recommend it. Every night some of the top pros in the business are there to critique your photos. We had David Fleetham, Jim Watt, Ty Sawyer and Marty Snyderman there, and I could see my photos get better every day. See you there next year!

  2. Sounds like a good event. I have a strong desire to go to Hawaii because nobody from Europe ever goes there. So I reckon I have a good market for the pix. Plus I was shooting Hawaiian Yellow Tangs in the aquarium today and I would like to shoot them in the wild.

Jeff, are those moray shots taken on medium format? Good skills. Getting action shots in focus on medium format is not easy!

I had to chuck loads away to get this keeper!

  3. Nah, I photoshopped it. :D I just liked the frame 1/2/3/4 look for the action shots. I took these with my Digital Rebel/Aquatica housing/Inon Z-220 combo.

  4. Wow! Nice pics. Sounds like it was a great event.

    Thanks for sharing,

    David.

  5. Good job! First photo looks great, with all those fishes aronund the turtle, congratulations for the prize you won with that photo. Manta ray is an amazing pic too.

Thank for sharing, I've enjoyed a lot :D
