  1. This was taken on Bridge Span 2 in Panama City Beach Florida. Please critique, I am new with this camera and trying to learn.

  2. Thats a great shot actually, nicely done and good tight composition. I really like the strobe reflection in the eyeball. The only thing i would nitpick is perhaps getting an angle just slightly more toward you, probably not possible as it seems to be in an overhang.

Is this the full frame shot or a crop? You may try cropping just a touch from the right as the overhang on the top right is a touch distracting.

But overall i think its a fantastic shot with great exposure, cool looking creature too, are Toadfish in the Scorpion fish family?

  3. Mike,

Thanks for the kind words. It is full frame. I will try your suggestion later and crop so overhang is gone. I don't know if this fish is in the same family as the Scorpion fish. My best guess would be no.

  4. Nice shot. However, (to me) it looks a little overcooked in the contrast oven. But if you are shooting complete manual that could account for the contrasty look. One mistake new photographers sometimes make is to over do their pictures in Photoshop to be not so realistic looking. Your pic to me is on the border. It is a very cool picture, don't get me wrong. Try backing off a few poiints on the contrast and repost. I would be interested in seeing if the diffference looks more natural.

    Thanks for sharing.

  5. I like the composition, I think it's a great close-up from an amazing animal. That big mouth is fantastic.

    Thank for sharing, regards :D
