Sync cable

  1. Hi,

Does anyone here know if Subtronic or Ikelite makes a sync cable that will fit between my Ike 6807 housing and the Subtronic Mini? Or do I have to change the bulkhead on the housing?

    Regards

    Peter

  2. I think that you will find that a Subtronic cord is available - I assume that your Subtronic Mini has a 5 fixed pin Nikonos type socket (I think that this is usual) and certainly Seacam list an 'N5-Ikelite' cable as being available - check with your Subtronic dealer.

  3. Hi,

Subtronics & Subal(housing for SB-800 land strobe) uses 'housing-side' of N5, not usual Nikonos strobe side of N5 socket.

1.I am using Ike 6807 housing too & could not find Ike to 'housing-side' N5 cable. No one makes it. Plus, 6807 housing has 2 pin bulkhead & TTL is not going to work. If you change to 5 pin & use standard TTL flash, camera will freeze(and/or damage the camera according to Ike's web site).

2.6807.1 with ttl , I think it is now using all 5 pins but, TTL will work only with DS-125.

  4. Hi

i do ..... I am able to build nearly every cable needet cause i have the plugs and know the wire connections it is also posible to setup the only two wired sockets from Ikelite to full connection if it is nessasary. Done for a C5050 housing ( non TTL cirquit , for a Canon E300 housing ( non TTL ) , and also a synccable for the Ikelite housing to a Subtronic strobe ( N5 fixed pinns ) or to create an adapter

Nikonos socket ( 3 fixed 2 spring pinns) to a Nikonos plug connecting with 5 pinns.

    by the way :

through special order a spring pin strobe socket is available original from Subtronic
