Minke Whales

As expected the first Minke whales of the season were sighted from the boat TAKA enroute to Cairns from the COD HOLE 1st June.

Here a few shots of them - it will only get better as theseason get's on and the water get cooler cooler = clear in this part of the world.

Great picture Peter, but only the top half shows up even on the enlargement.

I take it they are regulars at this time of year

Yep same problem with only half a whale, something to do with the upcoming whale commission meetings? I see foreshadowing!

Cool shot though, want to bring a few whales up my way when you come up Peter?

A huge WOW!!! I would give my wife's eye teeth to see one of those and photograph it.
