  1. Does anyone know of a great way to watermark their shots? I use a mac, are there any programmes out there that do the work as a batch for you?

Otherwise, can someone take me step by step through photoshop to create a watermark and how to add to my photos? - big request, i know.

    Cheers

  2. I use a great (cheap at $20) little program called iWatermark, which was highy recommended at a recent Nikon school course on digital work flow I attended. Here's a link to where you can buy it:

It is easy to use, making watermarks as subtle or obnoxious as you want, can be used to batch watermark, and is available for Windows or Mac. You can see some examples in the latest two galleries on my website:

  3. Actually using PS is pretty easy and you can make it into an action by creating a new action and then going through the following steps on one photo, then hit stop recording and then go to batch.

To create watermark: Pick the T (text) in the tool bar and then add whatever you want to write (initials, name etc) size it accordingly, and choose your font.

Then go to Layer, choose Layer Style, i like to add a drop shadow and also a bevel and emboss,

Then also in Layer style choose Blending Options, it gives you general blending and advanced blending with sliders, the play with sliders down to around 20 i would say or until it is at an opacity you are happy with.

Then just click on any other tool in the tool bar, go back to Layer and hit Flatten Image. Voila!

If you make it into an action i find it better to create two folders, one for vertical images and one for horizontal so things don't get messed up.

  4. Hi,

To ad the "©" to your watermark, hold down the "Alt" key and at the same time type in "0169".

Where are you based in the Philippines? I was born and raised there before moving to Vancouver. Puerto Galera is like my 2nd home.
