new sealux d2x housing

  1. now that i've ordered my d2x :D:D i'm thinking about switching from Subal to Sealux , (my wife has a video housing of this brand and we're very satisfied with it)

So I've asked sealux about an eventual housing for the new 12 Mp nikon camera and here is the answer:

We thank you for your inquiry. We are about to construct the housing for the new d2x nikon at the moment. We hope that we can put it onto the market in the middle/end of September. We still ask you for some patience. Please have a look on our web site from time to time because we will publish our new housing as soon as we have it ready.

We are looking forward to hearing from you and remain

    with best regards

    SEALUX

  2. I think Sealux's housings are very under-rated. Possibly because they are not distributed in as many countries as other brands.

One word of caution I would add is never trust a housing manufacturer's release date! So Jerome, don't plan any diving in October!

p.s. Last October at the Antibes Festival I told the three big housing manufacturers that were there that the D2x would be a big seller. They all thought that it was too expensive and Subal said they were making 10 units, Seacam 15 and Sealux would think about it. I made sure I could get my hands on one of the Subals (which I got in February and yesterday I took my 10,000th underwater picture with my D2x).

Anyway the D2x is selling in big numbers to underwater photographers and from the amount of emails I get I think that there are between 50-100 out there beneath the waves so far. So far the Subal, Nexus and this week the Seacam are available. The Sealux and Aquatica are coming soon.

  3. you're right alex , I don't expect this housing before oct-november this year, as I've already found at least 3 buyers for my actual system in september, i think I ll go back to film for 2 months :D (my nikonos will be happy to be wet again :D )
