  1. Hi,

Was wondering if anybody else is having trouble finding a shop that actually has the D2X in stock. I want to see how it feels and take a few test pictures before I make the decision to buy.

The problem is that every place I call, nobody has one, not even a showcase model. They are all more than willing to order me one, but I'm not about to pay for it before I can test it out.

I live in CT around the Bridgeport area.

  2. There are several camera shops in Santa Barbara CA that have the D2X in stock right now.

  3. Alternatively you could try a D2H or D2Hs which most shops will have in stock. In terms of handling they are almost identical.

Not an ideal solution, but better than parting with $5000 without having seen one.

  4. To quote the "Rocky Horror Picture Show" RISK IT!! RISK IT!! :D

I purchased a D2X totally Sight Unseen. Did not get to play with it until I got the box home.

Although expensive, it is a great camera. This was my first digital camera, and once I started to use it I totally abandonded film. To see results from this camera check out Columbia Gorge pictures, First trip with my D2X OK they are not underwater, but these are virtually untouched right out of the camera!

The bad side is the cost and size of the Housings. Just got my Nexus D2X housing in tonight, it is much larger than my N90S housing, lots of buttons and lots to learn.
