Inon Z-220 & Canon 300D

Hi,

A friend of mine has just bought an Inon flash Z-220 for its new 300 D and he can't fire the flash even in manual mode. There' any incompatibility between that camaera and this flash?

I've seen many fotographers shooting with other canon cameras and this flash so I asume that, at least in manual shouldn't be any problem, am I right?
