Months ago i promised to produce some sample videos of our JVC GR DVP3 with matching JVC housing and a Werner Light video light.
I finally managed to edit 3 short MPEG video clips (sea slugs, shrimps, small fish) that might give you an idea of what is possible in the macro / closeup section with a relatively cheap setup like ours.
The nudibranchs were between 2 and 4 cm long, the shrimp ranged from 1 cm to 3 cm and the pygmee seahorse was < 1 cm.
The colors are not as good as in my stills but the video light was rather weak and the mpg compressed clips are a bit darker than the uncompressed ones but i'm pleased with the results.
