I'm using Canon 300D in an "TTL-enabled" Ikelite housing and a single DS125 stobe.
i tried to shoot a series of macro pics with 100mm lens with 1/80 and f-stop range between 22 to 32. All of them turned out way underexposed!
what's goin on here, i thought the TTL suppose to fill the subject with enough light after judging the condition and the settings of the camera?
is there something wrong with the equipment or is it just me?
thanks again!
Hi,
The first thing to check is if you have the eTTL sync cord with a blue band on it.
Second: at those fstops, the strobe will only be able to light the subject out to about a foot away. If you are trying to take photos of something further away you need to push your strobe forward, get closer, or lower your f-stop.
If that's not the problem then give us some more info. to go on.
Cheers
James
thanks for the reply,,,
most of the shots were abt 0.3 meter (abt 1 ft) from the subject cuz that's the nearest that i can go before the lens starts to hunt for subject.
the sync cord does have a blue ring on it..
i set the LCD screen on the camera to full brightness thus giving me the impression that all the pics were correctly exposed until i put them in CS2 (i turned off the auto adjustment on RAW in the Bridge)
i think these are the info that i can remember ...
