Sigma 15mm & Nexus 120-7 dome port -

  1. After many mails and more searching I still dont know the answer of my question

    maybe you can help

I have a Nexus 120-7 Dome port. This port is a 100 % hemisperical and is build

special for the Nikon 10.5 mm lens.

Nexus america say that it will work with the Nikon 16mm to but how about Sigma 15mm??

Is there anyone that have use the Sigma with this port?

If not maybe we can found if it is working.

First we need the distance from camera bayonett to the sun hood to see if the

    Sigma fits insde the dome

Second we need the distance from camera bayonett to the top glass element of the lens.

Because I have a Nikon 10.5mm we can see if the top glass element of the sigma is shorter or equall to the Nikon 10.5mm (from the camerabayonett)

If it is shorter there would be no problem becauce it is not a 180° lens

    What you think?

  2. Thanks Alex

I have see the specifications on the webpages but is the lengh that they have ther from bajonet to frontlens or to the Sunhood??

    Nikon 10,5 mm 62.5mm

    Sigma 15mm 65mm

    Nikon 16 mm 57mm

So if it is true the Sigma is 2.5mm larger that the Nikon 10,5

Then we have the Sunhood that you can't take away. This lengh is import to

  3. make sure you have this distance:

As far as I assume the manufacture data include the sunhood.

As you said, sunhood distance is important too so that it doesn't scratch against the dome.

  4. Lambis,

is there no photo dealer in your town having the Sigma in stock? You could take your housing and dome to the dealer an check. Easy, fast and save.

  6. Just recieve am email ... SIGMA 15mm will NOT work with my Dome Port!!??

Why I dont know. Its sounds strange. Did they test is or just read the recomendations??

Anyway... I have the great altenativ: Nikon 16mm. More expensive but

on the other hand Zero problem with corners

Nikon 12-24 & 17.35 are great choices to but i dont think that i whant to pay for a second port system. The 12-24 with F4 will limit me in my Available light photos and the choice a Aperature that i need to have crisp photos.
