Hi. Im very new to this board and im interested in videography but im a bit confused about how to get rid of the fog ? i read somewhere that u should assemble the camera and the housing in the airconditioned room or any place that is cold but then i just read on this board that you should assemble it in outside temperature ?? since i live in Thailand Airconditioned room's temperature and outside air's temperature are wayyyy different. So if u guys could explain to me which one is correct ? the average water temp around here is 30 c . outside air is about 35+c and in airconditioned room is about 25c

Hi budgetdiver,
I've used my own video in Thailand a few times and yes it does help if you kit up in an aircon room. What happens is the air temperature topside is warm so when you decend it cools therfore producing fog. Put your case toghether in an aircon room, filling it with already cool air then put a SILICA GEL packet in your case. The kind of thing you get in packaging when you buy something new. This will absorb any excess moisture and prevent fog. Try to keep your camera in a bag out of sunlight and store it inside on the boat.
DONT FORGET THE SILICA GEL!

Usually I didn't packed my housing in an A/C environment since I don't have one where I usually dives.
Few things that helped me with that problem:
1. Put some silica gel small bags inside the housing.
2. Using anti moisture materials on the port inside, but use very little.
3. Most of the fog is coming from the heat near the batteries in the small P&S cameras, try to reduce the power that the camera uses by not using the back LCD when not needed.
