New strobe, New questions.

  1. I just got a very nice deal on a used Ike 200 TTL

I'm planning to use it along my 125TTL.

When I conected the 200 to the housing, I heard a beeping sound when in TTL and the housing board doesn't light up. I imagine this strobe is not TTL compatible with my housing electronics.

Question 1. Can I use this strobe and the 125 at the same time with a dual cord?

Question 2. Ca I use the 125 in TTl and the 200 in manual?

Sorry guys but my life is not complicated enough, I got to make it difficult.

    Thanks

  2. Just to clarify, I use a Canon 20D in an Ikelite TTL housing.

  3. The SubStrobe 200 is about like buying a case of 35mm film to use with your Canon 20D digital camera. Different era and requirements. It can be used alone providing manual capability only. The two strobes can not be combined on a dual cord. The 200 can be used as manual with a TTL slave sensor or EV Manual Controller on the DS-125, but you would be giving up the wonderful eTTL2 system. Fine strobe, but not a good deal to use with your system.............

  4. Thanks for your reply.

I still like the power this gun has for wide angle.

Can I wire the 200 and the 125 together with a dual cable for wide angle if I use both in manual?

  5. You can use the 200 in manual, if, and only if, the housing is in manual and the DS125 is connected as the primary strobe.  And the DS125 must be powered up at all times. The 200 can be used in it's manual mode if the above connection is used, or it can be set to ttl and the manual flash durations from the housing can be used.

Recommendation remains that the 200 should go and be replaced with a DS series strobe for digital cameras............
