HMAS Brisbane

  1. HI There,

I was lucky enough to go on the first club (URGQ, Underwater Research Group QLD) trip diving on the HMAS BRisbane on Saturday 20/8/05 :) . The HMAS Brisbane was a former Australian Guided Missile Destroyer which has be sunk (last weekend of July) as an artifical reef at Moolooaba just north of Brisbane and is sitting in 26~27m. A very diver friendly wreck with access to most areas of the ship.

  2. It'd be interesting to dive it monthly or quarterly to get the growth development of marine life. Nice new shiney wreck that will be covered with growth in five years. Very cool opportunity.

  3. There is already fish life attracted to the wreck and there was a squid laying egg on the stern handrail. I am planning to dive at least every 6 months or so to see how things progress. :)
