  1. I'm sure i haven't looked in the right place yet. Any reviews on the S80? Is it much better than the S70 other than resolution?

    Thanks!

  2. Comared to the S70, it uses SD cards instead of CF and the RAW file format has been removed.

  3. This means IMHO Bye Bye for Canon in the Compact Camera Underwater market for more ambitious PGs .

I think RAW is the most important Feature for UW-Photography and Canon has now only left the G6 and the Pro1 in the most current model line with this feature and for those two there is now cheap Canon Housing.

    Very Sad

  4. Oh crap I didn't see they got rid of the RAW feature....never mind.....what the heck were they thinking?!?

Anyone know what Canon's thinking is on going to the SD cards? I got the S2 IS...nice camera for the backback but has the darn SD card...which is begging to get lost or mistaken for a snack.

  5. If you're comparing the S80, Olympus just announced the 350. It has a hot shoe and shoots RAW.

  6. You can shoot RAW now if you use the CHDK hack to override your Powershot s80's operation. It's Free and on 9/10/2010 the movie clip mode works with optical zooming, RAW files are basic RAW, use DNG converter to fix your image files before using your editor program on them.

The G11 and G12 and S90 and S95 all have RAW! Wake up and smell the specs.

Uh... you're replying to a post from 2005.

  9. :D

Well someone else brought it up to the top. I just fell for it, hook line and sinker.
