Slave strobes

  1. hi all,

If i use my Inon as my main strobe and a YS-90TTL strobe set as a slave does the slave strobe put out the same light as the main strobe? or will it fire on full or half? ;)

    thanks,

  2. The Inon Z-220 when set to TTL and slave (no cord) will turn on when the main strobe turnes on and off when the main strobe turnes off. In most cases this will give an even distribution of light across the frame. I don't own the S&S 90, but do own the YS-30 TTL strobes which slave the same way. I have used them out of water many times as well, attached to a light stand or placed to provide added light to the main on camera strobe.

  3. I think he asked about using the Inon wired and the YS90TTL as a slave. If it's a TTL slave then it will start firing when the Inon starts and it will shut of when the Inon shuts off.

Now what power is that? Who knows. If the two strobes fire for the same duration, then it depends how fast each strobe delivers it's energy.

Sorry, no simple answer to this one Alastair.

    Cheers

  4. James,

That is how i have it set up - until i get a second inon anyhow. I will use it for a week in the phillipines so i just have to see how it goes. I was concerned about the to strobes being un-balanced somehow, but they do at least have the same colour temp.

How do you rate your inons as i have been using mine for a while by itself and am very pleased with them but i have not heard of many other people using them? I will be recieving my 10.5mm and 10-20 lenses - hence the need for more coverage.

    thanks,

  5. I think the Inon's are great for macro photography.

    Cheers
