Ikelite DS-125 charger

can this charger do the same job as the ikelite smartcharger?

It is the 6-12 cell version I have, charging current is 1,5A

Ike's smart charger is not that expensive and readily available. I love it and would not risk using someone elses charger for fear it might ruin my batteries. If you skimp then you risk the same in return.

I know someone who used an alternate charger for his 125 and now it won't work anymore.

Use Ikelite chargers for Ikelite strobes. It's safer...and you won't risk voiding your warranty.

The thing is that mascot chargers are known to be well built. And it would be practical to be able to use one charger to both the dive torch and the strobes...

Ikelite just replaced its quick chargers with US and European plugs for a universal one that has US, Europe and Australia connectors

The part is #4066.1 price is around $100. I would not look elsewhere.
