  1. I am still working on my Webside... endless project

But you can take a look under "Photography" and tell me what you think about my photos.

    www.apneaimages.com

All of them are taken freediving & with available light.

80% are taken this Sommer with my new Camera. Its was a chalange to use a DSLR camera for the first time.

I have use mostly a Nikon 10.5mm lens and Alexs Filter.

If you have some favorites please tell me the number.

  2. Very impressive. The skin tones are very nice. I love the big hand in #5.

  3. Very nice. As mentioned excellent colors. Did you use a filter? Orange? Photoshop to add color?

I really liked them and great use of the 10.5x. A lens I found hard to use. I did find myself wanting to see the divers interacting and surrounded by underwater scenery more after looking at a number of the shots.

Do the spearfishermen think you are a little strange for using a camera?

  4. Great shots Lambis, visibility looks excellent, I really like the blues.

Dave, he used Alex' magic filter in most of the photos.

  5. Seeing sets of images like these, that really exploit the Magic Filter makes me feel very chuffed! Several pro photographers have questionned why I chose to share the Magic Filter rather than keeping the technique for myself. Well when I see people producing great images like these it makes me certain I made the right choice.

I think that they are a great set of images, Lambis. And there are plenty that would be impossible to produce any other way.

When I am back from Cayman I will be looking to update the Magic website with images taken by users of the filter. You can expect an email in October!

  6. Very impressive images. These spearfishermen must do a very good job, I can't see a single fish in any of the pictures except for the one on a stringer.

  7. Thanks Guys.

Some more info about the Photos

    10,5mm Lens

Its true.. . the 10.5 is a hard to use lens. I am still not satisfied with my way to use the lens but on the other hand I give me a break – it was the first time,. We was 3 times out and all the 3 times we was on the same spot. I really like to shoot more photos like Number 45 will some more interesting surroundings and walls.

    Magic Filter

Alexs magic filter have make wonders!!! The filter is more sophisticated that you guys think. Most of my photos are relative colorless. No reefs no fishers and corals only black neoprene and blue and still you see that the filter is working.

What I love is that he preserves the colors and not manipulates them. My Blacks & blues are excellent strait from the Camera.

I have discover that not many Photos need Color correction. One think that is importand with the Magic Filter….

DON’T try to overdue with White Balance in Photoshop.

Now I will tell you one more great think with the filter. In 2 Dives I have done only one time Manual white Balance. I have white balance on my hand and leave the camera 2 days with this settings. Its was a test to see if the Magic filter is forgiven.. Its works just fine.

More importnt that wjite balance is what Alex say. SHOOT WITH THE LIGHT!!

Follow some spearfishers that do again and again the same is king off boring and some times very hard work for the body. One time we was out on the sea for 5 houers with strong winds.

There was some fish but I don’t realy like to shoot this kind of Photos, not if there are not very dramatic and show the fight off the human & the animal

On the end I am happy that i have switch to DSLR. I have more keepers that before. Way more. On that trip I have fill a 2GB Sandisk with unterwater Photos.

I can say that the 35 -40 % are keepers

What i am missing? More contast, more detail, more pixels (If you need to grop a photo) and a camera with a great af system. The Nikon have problems to focus in low light & low visability..
