powershot g3

i was about to buy canon powershot g2 for underwater use, but since the new powershot g3 has just been released, i targeted my attentions to this one.

maybe there's still no uw experiences with the g3, but from what some of you may know about the "old" g2, are there better solutions from nikon or olympus in the same quality and price range?

by the way, when will ikelite release a housing for the g3?

I doubt there is a housing yet for the G3. Looking at the delta between the G2 and G3, I am not sure it is worth the extra $$. I would go with G2.

thanks for your answer. are you happy with your g2? do you get a good photo quality? any online photos i could see? btw, which memory card do you use? does the battery usually lasts only one dive?

I am very happy with the G2 (great photos UW and on land). I use a 256mb CP Flash card. I never have had a battery issue with the camera and I have used it on 3 dive days without a problem.

Looks like Ikelite will have a G3 housing in December. I just saw it on their site.
