Kimberly and I just got back from 9 days in Bonaire. We had a great time and the diving was excellent. We worked on trying to portray the usual reef suspects in some fresh ways. Not that easy with such common critters.....you Pacific travellers have it made with all the great subjects

What were you two smoking
Very interesting shots. I like it! Looks like you had lots of fun.
i like the fish motion shots, very artsy fartsy, and the blue nudi is stunning
Hey Karl -
I need to go back to Bonaire because I did not see half those critters!
The red night shrimp, blue nudi and pederson shrimp hanging in mid air are very cool!
The slow motion queen angel is my favorite from the blurred photos...what would you call that technique anyway?

Karl,
I like the macro a lot. I can see you've invested a lot of effort in your shutter-drag shots. Very interesting - I especially like the shot of Kimberly's eyes.
Cheers
James
Great collection. The macro is excellent. My favorite WA is the Spawning Barrel Sponge, it almost looks like studiowork. Also the fireworms are great, I completely ignored those, without knowing how beautiful they are.
P.S. I also was in Bonaire a week ago(I can't find the time to process some pics), but where the **** did you find the frogfish?
Greets,
Kees
There are some really different shots in your gallery that I really like.
Some of the macro is really well observed too.
I like the close up of the spinyhead blenny a lot. Was this 105 + diopter ?
Mark
I agree, it's difficult to find a fresh approach with subjects that have been done over and over but you've done a very nice job. Some of the motion blur stuff works for me but some of it doesn't. I think I need some part of the image to be sharpe.
Bonaire is my favorite Caribbean destination. Not because the diving is best - it probably isn't - but for the overall experience.
Thanks for the positive feedback.....Bonaire is a great destination for photographers
We used the 60 + Woody's and the 105 with a 4T diopter + Woody's for most of the macro shots....we kept coming back to the 60 for it's versatility....fish portraits or 1:1 on the same dive.....
