The camera has made it out to the hands of good photograhers with nice glass.

5D & 16-35mm sample

I managed to handle a 5D together with the new 24~105/4 IS lens. Close focus in not bad and the whole package felt well built (not up to the 1D standards though) and reasonably light. My base impression was that this camera will house well and should make an excellent underwater camera. It would be very interesting to be able to use IS underwater!

While not built to same caliber whatsoever of the L lenses, the EF-S 17-85mm IS is already being used underwater.
