Just got back from "3-hour tour" to Flowergardens

Well, NOAA predicted 3-4' seas maximum so everyone was pretty excited to go to the Flower Gardens this weekend. I booked a trip along with 3 friends from work.

When we got down to the boat, I was excited to see that my favorite crew and divemasters were there as well as two other photographers from HUPS.

By the time we got to the end of the jetties we were in 5' seas and the forecast was calling for it to get worse. The short version is that we turned around after 2 hours to a "chorus of Ralph!" (I was not one of the ones singing. I was down in my bunk trying not to hit the cieling.

Maybe next week...

FWIW, seas are 7' now in the Gulf, so it was a good call.

James, sorry to hear that..........I was watching the buoy weather and wondered if the trip would be cancelled..........bummer

I feel for you as I sit miles from real diving and snow just now falling with only thoughts of February in my mind.

Why do I live so far from diving? Not the silt bottom 5 foot variety?
