  1. Regarding your question about swimming: that’s exactly what I’m using it for. Sperm whales and Humpbacks, dolphins, sharks. A GoPro is smaller but the WACP-C combination is a no-brainer with really good IQ
  2. I do more freediving than scuba and really like the setup. It has a slightly negative buoyancy which I think is good. Being able to use the full zoom range helps very much. I do own the 8-15 with zen 100 minidome in parallel but I don’t think I will use that very often. https://waterpixels.net/forums/topic/2372-fisheye-options-for-sony-ff/#findComment-15915
  3. I used A7IV, 28-60 and WACP-C for the Mobulas. It is not the lightest one but other solutions might differ only by let’s say a few hundred grams. I like it. And you could sell the old port and the WWL.
  4. Thank you so much, Wolfgang!
  5. Hey @Oskar - Retra UWT , just got your advertisement on the new Pro Max II. You should have taken my picture… ok, only one Pro Max I , but way better and it shows how good TTL can be. Ist the picture in the ad taken by Alex? He’s recently been there , just two weeks after us, but I think they had bad weather. Vince and Debra are so cool 🤗 we‘ll sure will visit them again.
  6. Hi. Wolfgang, in addition to what @jjmochi said: the Sigma MC11 and the Sony TC are not compatible. But as I already own a 2x TC I might upgrade to Metabones V, but then I need the long zoom gear also. So if you are back and add the 2xTC gear.. What company could be recommended for printing? Thanks a lot!
  7. Can only speak for Germany - here the HUK has a good home insurance that saved my a.. now for the second time in 5 years. I don't need any travel gear insurance.
  8. All thanks to you and UW-Technics (and of course Sony)- Great Job. Works as a no-brainer.
  9. Beautiful! What‘s your impression on AF- and overall performance of your combination?
  10. It might be reasonable to compare effective weight (Port + Lens) to see the real advantage of 8-15 in terms of portability: WACP-C + 28-60 2.733g ZEN 100 + 8-15 1.825g (including the port extension). Difference 900g... less than expected. While the WACP-C is more bulky it delivers better IQ off-center but has less angle of view. It also gives a little fisheye bu much less than the 8-15 at 15mm with the small dome. I personally will use the WACP-C for the majority of dives but the ZEN-dome with the 8-15 has its own areas in which it shows its advantages. Interesting though that the Nikonos performs much better in terms of size, IQ and weight.
  11. Remember that you have to move a lot after jumping into the water. Gopro hat a smaller body but certainly less IQ,. If your wife is fast at point and shoot even in the water with the iphone, then this schould be the best option. If she is more in filming an just wants to start the camera before jumping in, the GoPro should do it.
  12. I just started with one Retra Pro Max, UW-Technics Trigger and A7IV. I cana't say anything else than everything works quite fine, especially with TTL.
  13. Looks like Nauticam
  14. Hi Chriss, for the combination with the WACP-C I can add that it is nearly neutral (has an bouyancy collar). For ZEN minidome an 8-15 I fully agree that it is more negative. I didn't find the negative weight a problem when freediving. For me, it was a weight I could throw off in case I ran out of air and fainted (I'd rather lose my camera than my life, although I'm sure some underwater photographers would see it differently). In my case the A7IV-Nauticam + 8-15 + Minidome was negative at around 1kg.
  15. I do more freediving & snorkeling than scuba and own 2 of the abovementioned solutions: Canon 8-15+MC11+ZEN100 dome and Sony 28-60 + WACP-C. The Canon + minidome is small but only usable at 15mm under water (haven't tried TC yet). This combination should be fine for many situations if you can get close enough to your subjects. The 28-60 + WACP-C comes at higher weight, cost and volume but delivers great pictures and is fully zoomable. Below the manatee pics (in murky water) is taken with 8-15 and the Tigersharks with WACP-C.
