  1. Hi all! I am looking to expand on my current setup (Zcam e2 + panasonic 45mm) with the Nauticam EMWL. As my budget is limited, I was thinking of starting out with just the focus unit and the 130 degree lens. I won't need the relay lens, as I'll be able to rotate the image on my monitor. If someone has a focus unit #3 laying around and collecting dust, I'd love to hear about it. I was thinking of the 130 degree lens to start out, as the FOV seems to give me some nice creative options for composition. If someone would recommend otherwise, let me know too! Located in the Netherlands, so preferably sellers from Europe (import taxes and all). Will be on Vancouver Island until the end of October 2025.
  2. Hi Isaac, did you by any chance learn more about this? From what I understand, you suggest that using i.e. the focus unit #1 (96mm length) might work with a panasonic 45mm on m4/3 sensor, but would provide a slightly larger FOV and possible vignetting? I'm trying to wrap my head around the optics and how that larger FOV might occur.
  3. Hi @Davide DB did you eventually get to try the setup with different focusing units? I am also wondering whether my zcam + 45mm would work with i.e. focus unit 1. I did test it with focus unit 2 and didn't notice any vignetting, but focus unit 1 is quite a bit longer, so I wonder what that would do to image quality and vignetting.
  4. Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Will definitely keep an eye out for any RED related news, interesting!
  5. Hi all! Should have joined the forum a lot sooner, what an amazing community of enthusiastic underwater photographers and filmmakers! To quickly introduce myself, I'm Hilmar Derksen (27) from the Netherlands. Learned to scubadive at age 6 and have been diving ever since. During my studies in marine biology I started getting into videography and wildlife filmmaking. This has gotten a bit out of hand, to the point where this is what I'd like to do the rest of my life (there are easier ways to make a living for sure...). Over the past few years I have had the privilege to work on some really cool projects in the Netherlands and abroad. Currently I am exploring the coastal waters of Vancouver Island! I started out with an olympus tg-6 and still really like the versatility and size of that camera, but upgraded to the zcam e2c a couple of years ago to get a more cinematic picture quality. I am thinking of going for a RED in the (near) future, but they ain't cheap. Currently looking to expand my current setup (zcam e2 + panasonic 45mm) with a Nauticam EMWL, so if anyone has a nice offer, hit me up ;) For an overview of my work over the past few years, have a look on my website! As an aspiring wildlife cinematographer, I am always looking for projects to assist and learn, so feel free to contact me. Cheers, Hilmar www.hilmarderksen.nl
