  1. Thank you for the advice. The problem is definitely not with the fiber optic cables. It seems to be the flash trigger. Not sure if it’s at the hotshoe connection with the camera the battery or something else. Once the camera recognized it then it works without a problem. If you look at the picture the lower left corner with flash rear ttl. That will go away signifying there is no flash attached even though the camera had been sealed and working on the camera table.
  2. Hello everyone. In need of urgent help as I am in the middle of a dive trip, currently 1 week in Dauin then heading to Anilao for another week of diving/photographing. When I arrived in Dauin I noticed that my flash trigger was not consistently firing my strobes and even when it did it was out of sync with the camera. Ive had this problem prior due to old batteries in the flash trigger. I replaced the batteries and now when it fires it syncs with the camera. However, I noticed that when it doesn't fire my camera is not detecting the hot shoe. Ive cleaned the connections in the hot shoe and camera. Ive lighted the battery spring so that the batteries are tighter and still having the problem intermittently. It is strange that it works perfectly find on the surface on the camera table but as soon as it underwater problems begin. I little percussive maintenance, hitting the housing sometimes gets it to work which leads me to believe that is a poor contact somewhere. Any advice?
  3. Thanks. Yes the larval wonderpus and the squids were shot during Blackwater dives. The coconut octopus was in Anilao pier during night dive.
  4. Cephalopods shot during my recent trip to Anilao, April '26. feedback welcomed.
  5. Shot during blackwater in Anilao Phillipines. April 2026. Thanks.
  6. Thanks. Nikon D7200 with 60mm lens. With the APS-C sensor it ends up working like a 90-95mm. For the super close up use a CMC diopter.
  7. I’m doing a trip to Dauin later this year or early next year. I would love to add malapascue threshers. How did you get from one to the other/what’s the easiest route.
  8. hello everyone. I spent 10 days-38 dives in Anilao, Philippines this April. I stayed in solitude acacia, while on the price high-end, I highly recommend it. Each room gets their own guide and since I was solo, I had my own guide/ spotter and extra hand for snoot and creative lighting. I was amazed by the shear number and variety of nudibranchs. In that regard, I would place it above Lembeh, which I consider the best macro diving. Here is a highlight of my photos. Still working through, constructive criticism much appreciated
