Regarding the Tokina 10-17mm, I think this is perfect for APS-C. The question is whether a 100mm domeport is sufficient or whether to take a 140mm domeport (which is also not monstrous)...
I use the Tokina all the time for WA. Although I have both a 100 and a 140 port, unless I am setting out to do under/overs, I always use the 100. I can't see an advantage in the 140 for standard WA shots with the Tokina.

Totally agree with this. I think going with that one-lens-which-can do-anything is not a recipe for success. The problem is not the lens but the way having that range of options impacts on the creative thinking process. Pick a lens and go out thinking about what you can create with that. Photography is much about visualisation of an end result and then going out to achieve it.

I love to see sanity check and new (underwater camera) system in the same sentence. Ha!
How sane are we to spend so much cash and take all this sensitive gear in salt water?
Good luck on that final decision making, visalia. Just confirm to us all that you remain sane at the end of the process; and what pills you took. I'd like to order some. 🙈

Screws are going into a small zip-lock style bag,
Yep, exactly the same for me. Zip-lock bag with screws and Allen keys which, from time to time, punch their way through the plastic in an effort, I suspect, to escape. Ha!

I'm with Wolfgang on the 45-degree finder. I've been using one on my Subal ND500 housing since 2008 and would never leave home without it. Arguably the best "investment" I've made on my housing.
As I've written elsewhere, Nauticam reckon the Nikkor 24-50mm and WWL-C are the way to go for wide-angle on FF. I have no personal experience though.

Hey Reuben
I'm a D500 user and, yep, I would not want to switch out of that for a full-frame system particularly for the wide-angle element for all the reasons you outline.
I think in your position I'd be tempted to look for a D500 housing and camera. I'd be surprised if those cost $5000. It'd be worth posting a Like To Buy advert here and see what lines up.

The handles are easily removed on my Subal system with their chunky M4 screws. A 5-minute job to take them off or screw them back on. This makes life easier for travelling and cleaning.
Like Chris, I usually put a little silicon grease on the threads when putting the system together. Dave's 50/50 water/(white)vinegar mix for soaking the screws if they have been left assembled for a while is a good idea.

The end of Light & Motion
in Lights, Strobes, and Lighting Technique
Yeah me too. Though I did find the charging mechanism a bit quirky. But sad news indeed.
