There has been some discussion about the S&S correction lens. Especially about availability. As you say, there are, or were, two sizes and a number of members use them especially with 230 domes ad FX cameras.

Finally, for my own health I have changed the flights to a day later. I will have to visit Singapore for 1 day.
I still think would be feasible if my first flight is on time, and that is a big IF…😅
Thank you for your help and info.
Cheers.
A day in Singapore is no hardship. If you like Indian food, go into the Indian part of town. Great eateries.- 2

is that If you lose the first flight of the booking you cannot use any other flight although are from different dates
Yeah, that's pretty standard in the airline industry.
Which carrier are you using to fly into Changi? Then you transfer to Garuda?
-
Yeah, as Chris says, having one ticket to check baggage from departure airport to final destination makes changes WAY easier.
Timing could be quite tight. Again, as Chris says, if you can do it anywhere, Changi is the place. An amazing airport. I'd be tempted to grab someone from customs service as soon as you can, be super nice and outline the tight connection. They may be able to assist in speeding you through and getting to the front off queues. If, on the other hand, they are relaxed about it... there's your cue!

Similar, I’m sure. The Subal and Nauticam viewfinders have a threaded end to them. A large circular, threaded retaining ring screws on to the viewfinder threads inside the housing and holds it place. Subal use two o-rings on the shaft of the viewfinder to prevent water ingress into the housing.
To remove the viewfinder you unscrew the retaining ring and gently pull the viewfinder out. To refit, push the viewfinder back through the hole in the housing back and refit the retaining ring and tighten gently.

I think changing a viewfinder is my worst nightmare.
No clue how to do it, and attached in the housing forever
I thought the same thing but, if it's anything like the Subal or Nauticam system, it is dead easy and takes 3-4 minutes. If you have a vacuum valve system on the housing it's easy to check that you have got it on right and the seal is good.

Brilliant!
But doncha just love it when, after some years, you find some doohdad that you didn't realise was there?

The more interesting question could be how to transport the rig in the plane or on the boat... 😁
Presumably it could float on water so maybe there's an Nauticam outboard motor attachment?

Hey!
I’d suggest not going for “dive” luggage and choosing non-descript bags that draw less attention.
I’ve been using Eagle Creek wheeled bags for decades. For my latest, I bought a Cargo Hauler XT 120 litre about 2 years ago which has done several dive trips, It will take the standard airline 23kgs with ease and is really easy to pull. The bag is as lightweight as I’ve found but also tough.
I’ve had an Eagle Creek wheel disintegrate on one occasion and EC replaced the wheel with minimal fuss.

Apologies!
My mate in NYC confirms she can bring the cable to the Red Sea.
Baring any last minute changes, I’ll place the order on Sunday at 4pm Netherlands time. If you’re content with the quantities listed above, no need to respond. If snyone asked for an approximate amount, I’ll go with the larger figure.

Totally understand your feelings! As you say, it’s not just the camera but all the peripherals and having to replace them.
Maybe worth giving Miso a shout on the Sentinel. He may be able to send you replacement guts. The Sentinel isn’t hard to rebuild.
The strobe controller? 😱
Really good you found the cause though. Some consolation I guess that it wasn’t user error. But maybe not much!
Great you have insurance. Phew!

Hey Mark
So sorry to read this. What an utter bummer. As a D500 user myself, I think I’d be looking for a D500 second hand. I would have thought the housing would be serviceable and fixable.
Best of luck with the recovery process. Our thoughts are with you!
