  1. Camera is sold but housing still available! Price negotiable
  2. Wow! I feel special!
  3. Selling a 1 year old A7C with Nauticam housing. Camera body is in perfect condition and looks brand new. Housing has been through 8 trips and ~150 dives, never flooded, in perfect working condition but does have some minor cosmetic fading of the paint. Selling as am upgrading to A7R5. Camera for $1200 Housing for $2500 Get both for $200 less = $3500 (a new Nauticam housing alone will run you close to $3300!) I'm based in Singapore - can meet locally or ship internationally at buyer's cost.IMG_38 IMG_3849.HEIC IMG_3850.HEIC IMG_3851.HEIC IMG_3852.HEIC IMG_3853.HEIC
  4. Ok so I just came back from a blackwater trip where I was using the 90mm macro on Sony A7C... it was an uphill battle for sure. I came back and have been asking around on what the best options would be for BW on Sony FF... the 50mm macro unanimously got a "it's horrible / it's even slower than 90" from everyone I've spoken to. My buddy was shooting Sony A6600 w canon 60+metabones and I tried the combo on land (but did not get to borrow it on a BW dive as we both did every dive) - it did not feel notably faster than the 90 to me and is still prone to hunting. It also vignettes a bit around the corners but I suppose for BW that doesn't really matter. Someone else told me they shoot A1 with the Nikon 60+monster adapter and it focuses well and is easier to use than the 90, but as it's on A1 I'm not sure how an older body will handle it. Both Canon 60 and Nikon 60 + adapter options work with the same port as the 90mm (for Nauticam). And then lastly my Nauticam dealer who shoots A7IV told me the 90 is much faster with EMWL and he uses it with 100 degree objective for BW, as does 2 of his other customers one of whom shoots A7R5 and the other A1. He said out of all the combos that gets him the best results for BW, but I've haven't really seen that combo advised elsewhere.
  5. I was just debating with the same decision and ended up going with the R5. Video is not important to me so I was only considering the photo advantages. In the end decided I don't shoot enough action to need the stacked sensor and the 1/400 sync alone was not worth the price difference. FWIW I am upgrading from A7C which is only rated for 1/160 flash sync but I frequently shoot up to 1/250 - there is only a very very small black bar on top which is easily cropped out. So I'm hoping with the R5 being rated for 1/250 I can get 1/320 at least and maybe even 1/400 with a small crop-able bar. I noticed no discernible difference with the EVF or autofocus (on land) - the Sony salesperson told me R5 autofocus is supposed to be a bit more accurate actually with the new AI sensor. Alex Mustard's review on the A7R5 is what convinced me and he goes into quite a bit of detail in this video (although I know he shoots A1 but as I am not a pro I figured R5 was good enough)
  6. Hello I'm mochikat from wet pixels and jjmochi from scuba board. Took a year off from diving last year due to pregnancy and was shocked to find out what happened to Adam/Wetpixel when I came back (especially as I was booked on the March 2023 Lembeh trip with him which he told me I could postpone to 2024 but then stopped responding to any of my emails...) I gathered this is the new wetpixel with much of the same members / set up / content and look forward to learning more from all of you. Recently tried blackwater diving and am hooked!
