That is awesome! I remember specifically thinking how much better it would be with a float collar, and that was even without the addition of the wide dome! It’s been a while since I’ve seen an updated picture of your set up. It has taken the shape of something a bomb squad would remotely control to diffuse a bomb. 😆 Obviously, in your case, the results speak for themselves, as does the price point when compared to a mirrorless or dslr. I look forward to seeing your future videos with it. Your “LX10 Underwater Test” video (IIRC, I think that’s what it was called) is what led me to looking into the LX10 in the first place.

Best Smartphone for underwater Video, Photo & Macro (2025)
I have been looking into moving to an iPhone 16 pro/Divevolk setup and have been researching the topic of using wet lenses I already own on that setup. I have seen lots of sample pictures/footage of this setup using the Divevolk brand composite wide angle lens, but have not seen much as far as people testing other lenses. I already own a Kraken KRL-12 lens that I used to use on a RX100. Does anyone know how the KRL-12 lens would work with this setup? Would it be better just to use the Divevolk branded one that was designed for this setup? As far as macro goes, I already own a Nauticam CMC-2 diopter. Thoughts on using this with a divevolk setup?

Thanks! Believe it or not, we’ve interacted on scubaboard before! I believe you are THE underwater LX10 guy of the internet 😂. I follow your YouTube channel as well and love your videos. I took the LX10 to R4 this year and overall really enjoyed using it. My biggest gripes were the lack of decent stabilization in 4K and the insane weight the inon lens adds, necessitating even more floats. Those are a few of the things that led me to look into shooting UW with my iPhone. I certainly haven’t made up my mind yet though. I certainly loved the photo side of the LX10.

Hi all! I have been using this resource for a while, and feel that I now have enough experience to contribute! So here is the post I should have made a year ago! I’m Jonathan. I have been somewhat active on SB in the past, but not recently. In my other life I’m a Paramedic that is a nightshifter by choice. In this life, I’m a vacation diver who has been diving since 2020. My most recent trips are Maldives and Raja Ampat, with Malapascua on the books next! I’ve been using a Panasonic Lx10 in a Nauticam housing, and am interested in switching to the smartphone side for the 4K/60 and reduced weight to travel with. I look forward to being active on here!
