Karl, you missed Cor Bosman with his HM in W/A open.

Congrats to everyone looking forward to seeing the shots.

For the first time, I was surprised to see a shot (of mine) finish up in the standings. Pleasantly I might add. It's a vertical composition for the Zero and not B/W.

Rand

oops.....guess I better keep my day job

Karl

Thanks everybody and congratulations to all the other winners! it's a long and distinguished list.

Jose, welcome to the tribe. I'm the webmaster for the LAUPS, I helped with the international, in particular receiving the digital entries that got emailed in. You entered a fantastic portfolio, and I'm glad to see that all my favorites of yours have finally been recognized in other competitions. Well, almost all of them... good luck in the future! Judging is funny, it's often said that even the same group of judges would pick different winners on different days. Your wins show that you need to have confidence in your own images and keep entering.

Gracias Roger and Karl for the welcome and your comments.

Wetpixel is my favorite webpage and had become my best learning source .

I 'm glad to be part of this "school"

Hasta la vista

JA

One other occasional WetPixeller here who placed

They've now posted the winning images: 2006 Competition Images

Thanks Amber.....I saw your name but didn't remember seeing you on Wetpixel before....welcome and WTG

Karl

I didn't even know about the competition results being posted until tonight when I got an email from reefnet.ca asking to use a couple of my photos in their next DVD. I was psyched!

It was also the first time I "placed" in a competition. Even if it was just an Honorable Mention, I was happy. It was thrilling just to be included in such a group of outstanding photographers. All of the photos were great!

Way to go Wetpixelers!

Congrats to all the winners here, there are some really great images there.
