The site dpReview has just posted a detailed review of the new Canon 30D. They show side by side comparisons with the 20D and other Canons. Here is the link for those interested:
The larger LCD and many improvements over the 20D are very useful for UW photography, but I doubt that many companies will build housings for this camera.

How much does the 2 bodies differ? Can a 20D housing accomodate a 30D with little change?
If the 20D is discontinued, I'd think that there should easily be a big enough market for the 30D to make it worth it for the housing makers to go after.
Even the 350D and the D50 are supported.
On second thought you are right Herb, the two bodies are identical in dimensions, but differ a lot in the back. I think that a complete redesign would not be necessary, only a new back, which hopefully could be sold separately for those willing to upgrade or just keep their old 20D as a backup.

Use Phil's handy rollover graphic to see the body differences. They are more significant that I thought before reading the review.
I talked w/ Aquatica yesterday and they are making a housing for the 30D
Cheers

There'll probably not be many upgrades from 20D to 30D. It's like upgrading from D70 to D70s. I think it'll take over the current 20D market and be popular with new DSLR shooters.
