As much as I like my Transpac, I can see it's bad points if you dive doubles, cold water or use a lot of weight.

The transpac is a very comfortable BCD, but is not really suited for heavy doubles. There are people that dive them in that configuration (and use the reinforcement brackets that you can buy as an ascessory), but it can never be as stable as a back plate and wing configuration.
I used to dive a DiveRite Transpak II, along with other wing style fabric BCDs. After diving with a back-plate and wing once, I have never gone back.

Heavy doubles need to be bolted to a back plate for safety and stability.
As sparse as it may look, I have never dove anyting more comfortable and stable under water than a back-plate and wing configuration.

Just for fun, I'll just throw this out:
U/W cinematographers and their BCs:
Didier Noirot: a stinky old jacket style
Doug Allan: jacket style (but he's sponsored so we shan't name names)
The Halls : Jacket Style (again sponsored)
Peter Scoones: Jacket style
Scubadru: Eggs, rotten tomatoes wtf is he doing on this list?!?
Basically, if you are an adept diver, the camera should be an extension of your arms, 200g negative and balanced. All equipment should allow you to manuveur freely, even with battery packs. Wing/BP vs jacket have their pros and cons. Try it and see if you can use either.
