  1. Just a shot of The Cove for all you non-brits, taken this morning.

This is our local inland dive site........Jealous!!!!!

Water temp today 6 deg C. Looks nice buts its FC........Brrrrrrrrrrr (Even the Pike had coats on!)

    Mark H

  2. The viz is good at the moment though (for the UK). This is the submarine located on the 7m shelf.....clear from the surface!

    Mark

  3. Very cool sub.

As for 6C being cold, I laugh in your general direction.

We have been above normal here so far this winter. Today being 2C. Normal is -9C and lows of -20C at night. We also have the white stuff on the ground. Gladly we are well above normal because you don't want to know what below normal is like when there is a windchill.

  4. Oh I just can't wait to get over there!!!!!!!

  5. Now you sound like Americans I know.

You do realize that summers can be into the high end of the 30'sC. High 20's is probably normal. Actually, if I recall correctly, you are into weather so you probably have researched the average temps already.

It was hotter here in July than the Bahamas when I was on that trip.

  6. It's nice to see Alan is at last spending some of those millions on the dive centre I designed for him back in 93!

How come you didn't take any UW?

Did they get the Sub out of a Kellog's package?

Last dive I did there was to try out my then new 12mm lens in July 97.

Here's the first photograph what I took with it - not too clever!

  7. Your pictures just continue to impress me.

A Northern pike if I am not mistaken.

You can take a relatively none exciting subject and turn it into a great shot that truly inspires me to keep trying and shooting anywhere.

I certainly understand why you are able to make a living doing what you do. Well done!

  8. Thanks Todd.

No, it's a Midlands Pike (Ha Ha)!

The picture was taken just to the left of the slanting rockface to the left of the main buildings in around 3m of water.

  9. I feel this picture shows winter a little better than Marks.

That is the vicious and elusive Canadian Goose.

  10. OK not so elusive

  11. Don't let him fool you Todd, the pike at Stoney Cove are that photogenic they queue up for a photo. It's not uncommon to literally stroke these predators, particularly if you have a strobe, as its the only source of heat they get!!

Bob, I was on a dry run visiting Stoney. My dry suit neck seal needs replacing as the mice have nibbled it to bits. Also my Argon pony needs a test.

  12. K'neck seal - I can remember the days...

    Where's your pike pictures?

I didn't say mine was anything special - just the first picture I took with the 12mm lens, and the only one I had in this laptop.

  13. I got asked to do an article on cold water fish, so it looks like I have to come over and blind the Pike, Carp, Perch and Crayfish!

The things I'll do for money eh!

  14. The spawning salmon have made some pretty neat photos. I know one pro from our last BC trip went to do some pics of them.

I believe Brandon Cole had some on his site. I mention him because I know he does Pacific Northwest stuff more than most other pros.

  15. The only Salmon around here comes in tins!

  16. Now there's a name for your second son, Salmon!

  17. ...and the middle name Rushti?

  18. I was thinking Mousse.

  19. He'll be English not Canadian eh!

  20. What is the expected due date of the little tadpole?

Hey there we go "Tad"-A little american sounding though.
