  1. A great bye bye to the administrators of the Forum and all the customers. I follow to you from Italy and in my help Google aid translator he is big.

They are content owner of Canon EOS 350D.

I have intention to acquire an housing but, honestly, not if to choose aluminum or polycarbonate.

My guideline is UK-Germany out Patima.

    You can help me?

Thanks and sorry for my english not very well.:rolleyes:

  2. No indication?

It is not easy to choose. :)

    A small council?

    Thanks

  3. Hey Franco,

If i had to chose between UK and Patima, i'd go for the UK germany. Uwe Kiehl produces these housings himself and he can be contacted easily via email in case you have questions. I suppose you also checked out Digideep for which housings are availbele for the 350 D.

Others 'affordable' brands (european made) worth to consider are the new Bruder housing which looks really nice (i had it in my hands some months ago and it felt quit good, although i don't know whether bruder has a good reputation) and maybe you should also consider a Hugyfot housing, which is my personal favourite

    Good luck, Udo

  4. oops i made a mistake.... I meant the BS Kinetics housing instead of the Bruder housing. I tend to mix these two up.... The Bruder i never touched....

  5. There are some excellent photos of teh Patima housing in today's ADEX show report, posted by Eric.

    Cheers

    James

  6. I handled the Patima unit at ADEX - what great packege.

The finish was outstanding and had a good selection of ports.

Simple concept for focus / zoom access.

Probally the real standout was the compact GLASS dome.

  7. Hi, i'm planning on going dslr at some point, likely with the 350d. The hugyfot housing looks like a work of art. I haven't been able to find much pricing info for the US market, however. Anyone know what it goes for approximately? Something tells me I'd rather not know. Do the prices for these housings decrease over time? Ugh, I think I'd better start saving. Does anyone know if it supports e-ttl like the ikelite?

  8. Thanks for the councils.

Effectively not it is easy to choose.

My guideline is lodging of Patima or UK-Germany.

    Still thanks. :)

  9. Franco,

did you buy a Patima SLR?

    Regards

    Umbro

  10. Hello Umbro

    not still.

Currently my guideline are Sea & Sea or UK-Germany.

Also Housing Patima but I do not find references on line.

Unfortunately :D Aquatica and Subal do not produce housing for EOS 350D.

    Have you other councils?

    Thanks :P

  11. I am going to decide on Patima or Hugyfot.

    Talking about Patima.

Advantages are 100m max depth and the availability of flash housing.

Disadvantages are ..... something built in Corea, .... far away from here in case of problems, even if I will buy through an Italian Dealer :P

    Talking about Hugyfot:

Advantages are the name of the factory and its location in Europe.

Disadvantages,.....only 80m depth and no flash housing available. :D

    Ciao

    Umbro

  12. Hello Umbro,

    thanks for your council.

I do not try the resistance in depth but the emergency of good operation and eventual European guarantee.

You can to indicate eventual link to me in Italy for Patima and Hugyfot?

    Thanks. :D:P

  13. I would go for the Sea&Sea for around 1100€. I think it has a really good combination of quality and price. You can even buy the model with TTL for sea&sea strobes (or get Mathias´device for other brands..). I have an ordered Hugy for my D200 but my second choice (and I don´t know why not the first...) is the sea&sea...

  14. Hello Umbro,

    thanks for your council.

    Thanks.  :D  :P

Emergency/Mainentance is really the crucial point.

Concerning guarantee, is less important, as in many cases it is very hard to demonstrate that it is not your fault!

In any case, Italian Patima distributor is

    Leone Company

    Tel: +39-011-720-75406

Corso Francia 286, 10146 Turin Italy

    Email: Leone [info@fotoleonesub.com]

They reply quickly to your information request.

For Hugyfot I contact directly the company, that is the same of Green-Force products, but I cannot exclude that they have italian dealers, too.

    Ciao

    Umbro

  15. Thanks to all for the valid help.

The choice is difficult for the assistance.

Who was in possession of housing for EOS350 for appeals to to face the book review of the product in order to hold to us informs to you and not to mistake purchase.

    Thanks for all. :P:D

    Thank you for your post.

Personally, I am interested in alluminium housings, as I am used for deep dives.

Housing matirials different from alluminium do not met my interest as I have already experienced unhappy implosions :P:D

The sea&sea, if I well remember, has a non-alluminium rear-cap that do not take me confident with it.

    Regards

    Umbro
