I have read them a few times Eric. They make very good reading. I have scoured the net for trip reports from the Galapagos and there doesn't seem to be too many reports online. Do all the divers get eaten by the silky sharks or are they too lazy to write trip reports. 5 weeks today and I will be flying to Quito from the UK
i remember reading a trip report from you or from one of your dive buddy's telling the story of you being left to drift into the unknown with only silkys to keep you company. I have told my wife that she is to stay by my side at all times. I am working on the assumption that her bright yellow fins, bright yellow semi dry suit will make her the more tempting of the both of us.
I have a trip planned for next year (2007) with Mauricio. My wife is very uncertain about the cold. What about the 4mm Apollo drysuits? Anybody know anything about them?

If anyone is interested there's two spots open for a Galapagos trip this September aboard The Lammer Law. PM me if you're interested. I'll be sure to post a report (an hopefully a few good pictures) once I get back.

By the way...the trip report was probably mine...

Hi-
a semi dry suit may be a good idea...some of the water temps were 69 to 72 for us.. My wife and I dove 7MM farmer johns with hoods... i was fine but if you are the cold type (me wife is) a semi dry may be the way to go.. a think dry suit would really slow you down as you tried to get near the whale sharks or escape the silky attacks.
)
My wife and I did our safety stops back to back while drifing alone waiting to be picked up ...never really had a problem with the sharks...of course, we would have been too numb from the cold to have felt any bite...
