Since its body construction same with Substrobe SS-200,
Be careful at fuel gauge part (Battery Led Indicator) which pottentially broken
under pressure (underwater) and caused fatality flooded.
Even with good care & O-ring maintenance, my SS200 totally flooded by
broken fuel gauge at 20m depth, and Ikelite will not responsible for this.

Hi,
Just like the Ike SS200, the DS200 is an excellent strobe with excellent color temp, good power, and a wide beam.
I'm not sure about the previous poster's problem, but whenever I've had trouble w/ an Ikelite strobe and sent it back it was either a minimal cost to fix it or free of charge. Their service is excellent.
Cheers

Well, I owned several SS200's and still have 2 on the shelf. They've been converted to gigital (manual mode only). I switched to the DS125's. The biggest difference is the weight. I'm not about to switch back. I'm trying to pack lighter.
I miss the power sometimes. But I used to shoot Velvia 50. When I switched to the D100 at ISO 200, I didn't need all the power. The SS200's never went past 1/2 power setting.
Did I mention they were heavy?

Of course, when you have two of those strobes you will feel like Dirty Harry. "...seeing as this is a DS200, the world's most powerful strobe, you've got to ask yourself one question; Do you feel lucky, fish... Well, do you?"

Hi again,
Yes it was a nice strobe, but now I lost that one caused by problem described in
previous post, I have returned my SS200 to Ikelite for evaluation, and now back to use my Sea&Sea YS90.
Hoping that I will get excellent service as you've got...
Cheers,
